Amazing Animal Facts

Crocodiles can also be called as a merciless hunter since they eat on their own species if it’s necessary. The amazing part is that, a crocodile also swallow rocks to be used as weight for them to dive under the water.

It is hard for a whale to deliver their baby as a baby whale is one third the length of the mother. To grow up, a baby whale consumes almost 200 pounds of milk a day which whale milk is half fat and 10 times thicker than human milk.

As human, we cannot do long trips journey without road signs or a map. Amazingly, birds make their trip annually without any difficulties. The Arctic tern is believed to fly for about 25, ooo miles round trip per year, whereas a research has shown that a Shorebird flown 7145 miles equal to 11, 500 km nonstop from Alaska to New Zealand without any break to eat or drink.


Seeing that there is no light during winter, beavers sleep according to the “free running circadian rhythm’ of the 29-hour days. They need to sleep to avoid losing of energy and cold condition.

Moles do have eyes but they are used only for the detection of changes in the air to see instead of what is coming. In other words, yes they are blind.

Although animals cannot perform complex thinking like human, but altruism does exist in animals. For example, dolphins support their groups while swimming and help the injured ones to help them breathe at the surface, chimpanzees share their food with other group members, and carnivore mammals will not attack below a certain age of animals.


Some fish species are born with only one sex and remain that sex for their entire life. However to some other types of fish, the changing of their sex is normal. Others also might have both male and female sex organs.


We might say that a giraffe is lucky to be tall enough to reach leaves on high trees without difficulties. There are always some disadvantages behind all the advantages. As to giraffe, their heart beats twice faster during inclinations causing the blood to be pumped twice faster. Therefore, the skin of the legs turns to be extremely tight in order for the blood to reach the head.

Elephant has the biggest brain among all the land animals. With an enormous brain, it is believed to have the ability to pass obstacles and to remember easily.



Parrots can do more than just screaming words and imitating people’s speech. They can solve certain linguistics task similar to children aged from 4-6; the understanding of the concepts of equal and different, greater and less than one and also numbers.  An idea has been carried out around 2007 where a study of Language Sciences carried out the idea of using parrots' speech pattern to help in developing speech skills in robots.
